Training & Education

Tarpon is committed to improving and expanding employee skills through on-going training and development efforts. Training and education can take many forms, from apprenticeships to mentoring and coaching employees.

APPRENTICESHIPS

We actively support apprentice programs and may have numerous Tarpon employees in various stages of apprenticeship completion at any given time. We place high value on training and are eager to do our part to support apprenticeship programs in western Canada, including yearly sponsorship of the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board Scholarship program.

AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS

We have instituted several award programs to honour employees who go above and beyond Tarpon’s expectations. Our first program is an annual scholarship fund that we hand out to first year electrical apprentices with the highest overall academic achievement. As Tarpon may have quite a large number of first year electrical apprentices in any given year, the person who receives this award should be very proud of his/her accomplishments.

Secondly, we have a President’s Award program to recognize employees who have made significant, commendable and outstanding contributions to Tarpon and/or our community. The President’s Award is very prestigious and awarded to a select few individuals to recognize their diligent efforts.
